Oh boy, what a crazy, exciting couple of days!! At my 37 week appointment I was still almost 3cm and now 60% effaced. Jeff and I were talking the other day and had discussed scheduling an induction date for after 40 weeks so I have an 'end date' (plus Dr.Drake, our peri, didn't want me going over 40+ weeks due to her bilobal placenta, etc). It's completely a mind over matter thing but I knew it would help me to not feel so overwelmed. So-I called the OB office and left a message for Dr.Mintzer's nurse, Lura, to call me back with his delivery schedule so the next week, when we have our appointment with Dr.M, we could set our induction date.

EVICTION NOTICE!
Oh boy, what a mess. The receptionist got the message completely wrong and Dr.M thought I meant I wanted to be induced now. AH! Not at all!!!! On Tuesday he called me from home (it was his day off-but that just shows how awesome he is!). I explained that Jeff and I were just wondering what his delivery schedule was for the week I'm 40-41 weeks so we could set a date just in case G didn't arrive on her own. He didn't have his schedule with him at home but we talked alot about different ways to induce, etc. He said since I'm already 3 cm dilated that most likely he would just need to break my water and I'd go into labor. He also discussed that if I went into labor before the date of the induction to give him a call and if he's in the office that day that he would be more than willing to deliver G at the West hospital, even if he wasn't on call (delivering) that day. This is great news, but I really don't want to deliver at the West hospital because they don't have a NICU/NICU doctors-so if anything would happen to go wrong G would be sent downtown (about 15 minutes away) to Blank Children's hospital.
Anyway-so Dr.M said he would call me back when he got his delivery schedule. This morning I got the call from him....he said he's delivery Downtown (at the hospital with the NICU) on the 15th of May and wanted to know if we wanted to schedule the induction for that day. He's actually going to be on vacation for a week when I'm 40 weeks, so the 15th was the latest he could do the induction. He said he has no concerns deliver 4 days early and since I'm already progressing on my own he thinks there won't be any complications. I asked if I could come in on the 14th to have my membranes stripped (he said if this is done really well, 50% of the time the woman will go into labor on her on within 24 hours). He said I could do that which may help me go into labor on my own so I don't have to be induced. But anyway-so G is scheduled to be delivered on May 15th!! YAH! I'm so happy, simply because I feel so much better knowing Dr.M will be doing the induction and hopefully the stripping will just help me to go into labor on my own so I won't need my water broken or pitocin! Now we just need to decide, if I go into labor on my own earlier, during the week-where I will decide to deliver (either downtown w/o Dr.M or at West w/ Dr.M.....decisions, decisions).
