I had my 34 week appointment today and met Dr.Barb B, she was amazing! She thoroughly reviewed my chart/previous appointments with me-which no other OB has done. I just felt like she really cared about what was going on and just made me feel very comfortable.
She said my feet are super swollen...but she's seen worse, not much we can do about it! She also checked me again and I'm 1cm dilated now, 10% effaced and my cervix is now soft and open. I asked her what the plan was and she said they won't stop my labor now that I'm 34 weeks. She wants me to come in if I'm having contractions that are 5 minutes apart for 1 hour. Dr.B also wants me to come in for a NST (non-stress test) on the babe each week. I had one today and G was looking perfect, but the uterus monitor was picking up lots of contractions. I felt them, but didn't think they were anything to worry about. They had me drink lots of water, thinking maybe I was just dehydrated but that didn't help at all. Eventually they let me go home and said I just needed to watch them.
Dr.B said it's possible G will be born within the next couple weeks-or she could suprise us and now come until 40+ weeks! She also said I really need to pay attention to my contractions (because again-I told the nurse I wasn't really having contractions and the monitor was picking up tons. But to me, they just felt like really light contractions so I didn't even consider them anything). She's not going to check my at my next couple appointments to reduce the risk of infection-but will check if I come in for strong, close contractions.
Basically-we'll just take it day by day! G has a mind of her own and I think she's just going to do whatever she wants...not matter what our plans are :-) For now, Jeff and I made a list of stuff to get done and buy so we're working on checking stuff off our list :-)
We have an ultrasound on Thursday to check her weight, I'm hoping she's atleast 5lbs! She's done great with her weight so far, so I just pray that she continues to grow strong and healthy! The last thing I want is my baby girl in the NICU :-(
