A routine...

Sweet lil Gianna...in her pantyhose headband I made her :-)

I always heard so many moms say to "let a baby be a baby!" or "get them on a schedule". It seems like moms always think what they do is best for every baby. I always felt guilty wanting G on a schedule-I thought she and I would just do better during the day.....but then I heard all these momma's telling me to let her be a baby and just do as she needs., which made me feel guilty. But then we had a pedi appointment (her 4 month appointment) and the pedi said...she needs to have a routine! So that's what we did.

This past week I started G on a routine...I tried to remember the last two weeks and see when she liked to eat/sleep/play,etc....and this week our routine began. Here it is :-)

Every morning we wake up and have breakfast together. She has milk and baby food.

If she's up before 7:30/8ish she'll nap 1 hr after waking. If she's up after 8 she'll nap 2 hrs after waking.

Then we play and run errands over lunch time.

After lunch is another nap

Play time

Short nap around 5

Dinner with mom & dad (she has baby food)

Bedtime starts at 7, in bed sleeping by 7:30.

She gets up once (sometimes she sleeps straight through) to eat and then back to bed

For naps I change her diaper, read a book, and lay her in bed with her seahorse and she falls asleep ON HER OWN. AMAZING!!!

No more spending 30 minutes bouncing, rocking, shhing her to sleep....it's heaven :-)

Anyway-so basically I'm saying listen to your gut. If you want to put your babe on a schedule do it...if you don't then don't! Momma's need to learn what works with one momma/baby doesn't always work for another. G and I do SO much better on a schedule...we're much happier and less stressed!

Thanks for reading another random post :-) haha
