Last week G was sick with a kind of hand, foot and mouth virus... but she only had sores in her mouth (mostly tongue). She also had fever and vomiting and it was no.fun. She couldn't eat (from Mon-Wed she maybe had a few bites of yogurt or pudding and water...). She was in so much pain and would even cry unconsolibly. It was terrible and so sad. She used her binky the whole time and I let her have it 24/7. Finally after spending Thursday morning vomiting/sleeping she woke up from nap and seemed so much better. She asked to eat(!) and play. By Friday she seemed to be almost 100% better and we spent the morning at grandma's. Fast forward to our way home and G screamed for a good 30 minutes straight and refused to take her binky. Finally she fell alseep (without the binky). She didn't ask or use it the rest of the night, so Jeff and I decided we would try bed time without it. She did ask for it but we told her she could get a Dream Lite pillow if she went without her binky! Over the next few days she asked for it at nap or bedtime but there was no fits and crying. By Monday we just told her the binky fairy took her binky to give to babies (I even pointed out a few babies with binkies like hers while we were at music class). She's done great and is 100% fine without her binkies, even for sleep and nap. I was truly terrified of giving up the binky and thought it would be a few days of hell. Gianna truly surprised me and is such a big girl! I'm so proud of her! The crazy part is while praying a few days before G gave up her binky, I prayed that the binky weaning would go ok. I knew we had to do it soon but kept putting it off. I think God did a little in answering my prayers...that man never ceases to amaze me ;-)
Here's a few pics of my sick baby!! SO glad she is feeling better!

| Gianna's dinner Thursday night! She got to sit at the princess table because she was trying to eat! (I put all the sauces on the side, they were too spicy but she did eat her noodles & salad!) |
