I got stripped...

Ok, that sounds a little dirty ;-) I had my 39 week OB appointment today with Dr.Bellaire. She is seriously the sweetest, most energetic little OB ever! (Seriously, picture a blonde with a southern accent that is about 5 foot and 100 lbs...that's her :-) ) Everything went super great...we talked about the induction on Saturday and she said that since I'm progressing well she has no concerns of a c-section. She did say I'm a 'little thing' (HA-it's been awhile since I've been told I'm little) and she said her only concern is me being able to push G through since she's already almost 8lbs! But she has faith that I can do it :-) I sure hope I can-I do not want a c-section!!

She also offered to strip my membranes since I have been stuck at 3cm forever. She said right now I'm 3cm, 90% effaced and G is between -1 and 0 station....she said that will make for a very easy induction if I make it to then! YAH! So then she stripped my membranes, I won't get into it-but it was very, very uncomfortable and lasted way longer than I imaged. Afterward I had some insane cramps-from my stomach, to my back, to my legs. But I had my NST afterwards and relaxed in a huge, comfy recliner and that helped, along with tylenol they are gone now! G was going crazy kicking this afternoon (I think she was a little pissed about the stripping-I could feel Dr.B moving her head around) but she's settled down now!

IF the stripping worked I should go into labor within 24 hours. After 7 hours I haven't shown any signs of labor, so I'm not holding my breath but we'll see :-) They say it works 50% of the time...and for the 50% that it worked for most were atleast 3cm and second-time moms.

I'll keep you guys updated-say a prayer that baby G decides to arrive and I go into labor in the next 17 hours or so!!! If not, I have Thursday and Friday off from work so I'm excited to relax, clean, shop and have some ME and US time!!!!
