Umbilical cord update....

So I finally got a call from my awesome OB about our ultrasound. I think I bugged the nurses so much today they had no choice but to make sure he called me back as soon as he got the report :-) haha! Dr.M explained so much to me. He explained what was wrong (we have a bilobal placenta-don't know if that's because we were pregnant with twins-lost the other one at 4 weeks) and a marginal umbilical cord. He said it wasn't a huge problem at all. I asked him about all my internet findings and he took the time to explain each and how we didn't have any of those problems.

So the big question was...what does this mean for G and me? Not much. We'll have an ultrasound done every month (YAH!) to check for growth. If she continues to grow normally or just a bit small I can labor and deliver as I planned. If she ends up measuring small or not growing they will give me steroid shots as needed and induce me or do a c-section, depending on how strong lil G is. Dr. M said that since she is measuring perfect he doesn't forsee a problem at all, but just in case we'll continue with ultrasounds. The only other problem is that the cord could break away from the placenta after birth and they'll have to go inside and remove the remaining placenta (I don't know if he meant by hand or surgery-haha!!) So, basically all looks super good for out little girl. Now, I feel SO much better!

This weekend I plan on picking up some paint and hopefully get started on painting the nursery:-) I'm also buying this chandelier for the lighting (Jeff is going to install a light bulb kit to go with it). I can't wait!!! I'll keep you updated on all my baby girl purchases and crafts :-)

Oh...and I want to make one of these to hang above G's dresser to hold all her hair bows and headbands :-)

So happy for good news! That chandelier will look awesome - I have one in my DR & I LOVE the bow frame idea - very cute!

Good to know everything is going well. I also have been meaning to make one of those for all of Leah's bows. I haven't yet though because I wanted to put some kind of hook for the headbands-any genius ideas?
