DIY Fabric Paint Curtains

Do you ever have an envision of the perfect accessory but can't find it in real life? That happened to me with baby G's curtains! I wanted something sophisticated but fun. I thought I could find white fabric with large dots on them...no luck! Oh wait-I could have ordered the matching fabric from Serena and Lily for $40 a yard...making the curtains cost about $100!! Yah right! So I decided to try and make them on my own.

I went to Hobby Lobby and found home decor drapery fabric, in white, on clearance for $2.99 a yard. I needed 5 yards so I paid $14.98.

Then I went to the paint aisle and picked up 2 colors of green, brushes, exacto knife and a stencil kit. For around $30 I had my stuff for the curtains! The two colors I bought didn't match just right but Jeff suggested to mix the two (I thought he was crazy) but he was right! It was a perfect match. Once I got the colors mixed I traced a circle and used the exacto knife to cut my circle out of the stencil paper. (The stencil worked well but I found it alot easier to just free hand the circle-which I ended up doing after about 3 circles so the stencil and exacto knife aren't really needed!)
Here's the finished product (with my awesome cats 'helping' me...why is they always think they need to be where ever you are and 'helping' you?!?)So the question is.......Should I do the whole thing in polka dots, add a ribbon (like below) or keep them as they are? And yes, they are tacked up for now. I need to go buy some curtain rods this week!

So cute! I would add the ribbon like you have it in the second photo & then leave them. I think that looks awesome! Great job. :o)

I vote for photo 2 - the ribbon is cute and gives it a girly touch.
