This week was definitely not as easy as I thought it would be. To be honest-it down-right sucked. I even had a little 'sugar' breakdown (meaning, I gave in and ate cookie dough because I was so down.right.mad) But this is more of a learning experience and life style change than it is a diet. So far I've only lost a lb, but I'm not going to dwell on that. I'm going to Keep Calm and Carry On. Here's a few things I learned this week.
1.) Eat when your hungry! I know this is a 'duh' but I really got caught up in the fact that I wasn't losing, so I wouldn't eat alot. This finally led to my 'break down'where I was starving, mad and gave into food (aka cookie dough).
2.) Lunch is the hardest part. I've been eating salads but they don't seem to tide me over for very long. Any quick lunch suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
3.) Snacks consist of cheese, fruits and protien bars. (The Luna ones are super delish but also kind of high in sugar) Drizzling a little bit of honey over sliced pears and heating them in the oven give you a sweet, healthy snack!
4.) Dinners are EASY! Last week for dinner we had: Grilled Chicken with Spinach and Mozzarella with a side of asparagus, Hot & Spicy Grilled porkchops with a side of baked beans, Low Carb "Pasta" (which wasn't that good...but I heard if it's done right it's delicious! I don't know where mine went wrong...), Sirloin Tip Roast (made by my husband and it was amazing, he just threw together a bunch of herbs/sauces for a marinade) with broccoli & cheese, tacos with one low-carb tortilla, and one other dish that I can't think of right now.
5.) Breakfast- I eat one piece of Sara Lee's 45 calorie bread (only 7g of carbs) and an EAS Chocolate shake. It's not the best breakfast but it keeps me full for a few hours!
This week I'm giving up pop and working on drinking 64oz of water. I love pop but it's terrible for me...this will probably be even harder than last week!
Here's too a great week and a 3lb weight loss this week! Fingers Crossed ;-)
PS-Here's our dinner plans for this week: Grilled Chicken Bruschetta,, Grilled Zucchini Pizza, , a shrimp dish, hamburgers (w/o the bun) and corn on the cob.

Omlets with veggies and cheese are totally carb free
Add hard boiled eggs and grilled meat to your salads to add some depth
Watch your fruit intake, fruit is healthy but has alot of carbs
ZONE perfect bars have 15g of protein, are tasty and less than 200calories
Pickle roll ups, lettuce roll ups, and laughing cow are all good snack ideas
Buy low carb bread not light-it has less carbs so maybe you could have 2 pieces. Check out english muffins or bagels
Look for sugar free cookies, ice cream, treats, ect.. sugar free tends to have less carbs and is a good alternate to cookie dough :)
Hang in there, your doing great, a pound lost is still a pound lost!
