And the crafting begins!

We've been debating for awhile now what to get Gianna for her 1st birthday. We had picked up this shopping cart at Target after Christmas for $7, but I didn't know if it was a bit to 'mature' for a 12 month old.

Until I saw this DIY play kitchen and decided even if she didn't play with it for a few more months, we had to make her a kitchen to go with her shopping cart!

We purchased this entertainment stand off craigslist for $20.

And plan to make it look something like this:

This morning we went to the Restore (an outlet store where people donate construction items and proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity). We picked up some silver pulls for the fridge & cabinets ($2) and wooden knobs that I plan to paint for the stove ($1.50). At Walmart we got a silver dog dish that we'll use for the sink ($4.50) and some silver paint to make the fridge/stove/microwave look like stainless steel. We are still looking for a cheap/free kitchen faucet. We have all the other supplies! (tint for the stove, paint, wood for the back, stove, microwave, etc). Jeff's mom gave him a golf course calendar the other weekend too-we plan to take a picture from that to use for the window-that way it looks like she lives on the golf course :-)

We are SO excited to get started! I'll post during & after pictures when we're done! I hope she loves it as much as we do!!
