Today I'm 23 weeks and got my second trip to the ER. We got about an inch of pure ice last night which made walking in my driving complete hell! I was so careful until I went to get into my car and my feet flew out from underneath me and I landed right on my side....
Jeff is out of town for work so I was bawling like a baby and called him. After calming down a bit I called my OB's office and they asked me to come in. Once I got there they sent me straight to L&D to be checked out at the brand new hospital-I think I was the only person in L&D lol.
They did an ultrasound to check the baby and placenta-all looks good! She was measuring about 1lb 5 oz!! That's awesome since Dr.Drake was concerned abut her being small-I guess my increase in eating has helped her to grow more. The u/s tech said she had big eyes :-) Her legs measured 22weeks and her tummy measured 24. I told Jeff so now he thinks we are going to have a short and chubby little girl, lol.
Next was the uterus monitor......which showed I was having contractions. I had no idea what they felt like. I told the nurse I could just feel G pushing on my belly really hard and it was getting tight. Uh...nope, that's a contraction she said! I wish someone had told me that because I've been having them once or twice every few days. However they aren't worried unless we have more than 4 in an hour. The first couple hours I felt quite a few and watched the machine as it printed out the sheet with big dips and hills from the monitor.
Finally the nurse let me eat too!! I was so excited:-) Granted it was only a pb&j but I was still happy. Around 12 my contractions slowed to less than one an hour and the nurse finally said I could go home.
So now I'm home hanging out on the couch. I have to watch for the contractions-now that I actually know what to watch for! We go in for a recheck in a week to make sure everything is still good. I'm so ready for May..I can't wait to hold her and just know she's healthy and ok!!

Yikes! I'm glad you and little G are okay!
glad that you both are doing good. not the kind of excitement you want this early on, or while the hubby is away
You just wanted to feel a little of what I was feeling that day! Hehehe! I'm glad you are okay and Dr. M was glad to hear who it was that was in L&D on the west side. He said it just tells him that someone is there and how far along they are. I'm glad everything is okay!
