I've really been wanting to organize our storage rooms down stairs so Saturday we went to Menards and pick up some shelves that were on sale. (Jeff had to remind me that I'm spoiled..he says whatever I ask for I get. haha. I had to remind him that the things I want are practical and cheap....not like the Volkswagon van he wants for tailgating. Lol!) Anyway...so here are before and afters of our two storage rooms. One is really small and holds all our extra food/personal items along with my craft stuff. The second is the big storage room/shop. It's not the greatest area but it works and the shelf helped to organize a bit. Now if I could just get Jeff to organize his shop bench it would look good! (maybe for christmas he can get one of those big tool boxes!)
Oh..and I cleaned the guest bedroom and took this shelf to the basement. This will be our play room so this is the start of organization for it. Right now it's really the kitties room. It looks so plain...we really need to get more shelves and baby toys to put in here :-) haha

Before....(during basement remodel-this is only half the room...other half was even scarier!!)

After! A little bettter :-)
Now if Jeff would clean his work bench.....ugh....
The craft room storage room....
On Sunday we rented a sod kicker ($11 for 24 hours!) and cut sod away for our garden. I want a really big one next year....I plan on growing strawberries, raspberries, cucumber, green beans, peas, green peppers, jalepenos, and tomatoes!! Yum!! I can't wait!
Big huh??? We're going to add a fence around the outside to keep out critters. Then I'm going to plant zinnias (yes Erin, I'm copying your parents :-) ) to hide the ugly fence and keep the weeds/grass clippings out.The sod kicker worked awesome and we used the sod to fill in areas in our yard, especially the front, that were dead. Now the front looks alot better..especally since we got the bricks installed a few weeks ago :-) Now I just need to add some flowers and we're good to go!
Today was also Kinsi's 3rd Birthday!!! We gave her and Kingston a special treat and made her a little toy. We always buy toys and they never play with them so we tried sewing a square filled with cat nip...they love it! So we made her a new one to play with....

Lastly, I also organized the nursery. I have one extremely full paper box of girls newborn-6 months clothes. Then about a half box of older girl clothes and a half box of boy clothes! Most were given to me but a few I bought :-) I think I won't be buying any more clothes for awhile! The nursery looks nice and organized though...I'll have to take pictures! We just need to get a 2 shelf bookcase and then the furniture part is all done :-) I'll try to get pictures sometime this week of that. While I was organizing I found a few towels that we don't use anymore because they don't match the bathroom so I made one matching set into a hooded towel for baby. It was soo super easy. Here's a pic, the colors turned out super weird but you get the idea.

Now, I'm finally relaxing and not ready for another week of work :-( Gonna go cuddle and watch a movie with hubbs!
PS-Sorry for the longest post ever! I guess we got more done this weekend than I realized! haha
