9 weeks!

Babycenter Update: Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs,muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

The time seems to be flying by! I can't believe at the end of this month I'll be in the second trimester!! We have another ultrasound on Tuesday and we are praying for a healthy baby and strong heartbeat again!! We're both very excited but still just a tiny bit nervous. However, I know Ducky is still in the best hands possible so there's no reason to worry!!

I'm feeling pretty good, a little nauseous and still very tired! My favorite pants are tight on my stomach (yes, already) so I need to go buy a bella band (or make one!). Below are my 8week & 9week belly pics :-) I also told Jeff he is no longer allowed to call our baby a him anymore, I think it's confusing my brain as to what I'm having. This week the sex organs develop so I'm going to try and tune into my senses and figure out what I'm having!! (although many people swear its a girl!) I really don't care either way, just want a healthy baby!!

We also finally told the rest of Jeff's family and most of our friends!! We sent out Christmas cards...here's a picture of them (sorry, it's a picture of the card from my camera!)
