Two big transitions....

I never thought I'd be making these two big changes so soon but Gianna seems to think they are necessary! She's moved into a twin sized bed and is working on potty training!

First things first....about a month or so ago Gianna would just cry in her crib. We couldn't get her to sleep unless she was in our bed, even without us in there. We thought maybe we could try moving her into a toddler bed, so we borrowed a friends toddler sized bed. No such luck.... I was watching her on our video monitor one day and   noticed she looked like she didn't have enough room.  We then decided to borrow a twin mattress from my parents and see if that helped...well luckily, it did! We still have to lay with her until she falls asleep and then leave her room. Obviously, we'll be working on weaning her of that after the holidays. She just won't lay in her bed by herself. She likes when I lay with her...and sometimes it takes her for.ever. to fall asleep! She talks to me, names my body parts, talks to herself...yada yada. All while I lay there and pretend to be asleep :-)

A few weeks ago we splurged on a new bedroom set for Gianna. I'm working on redecorating her room too! I found some cute ideas on pinterest and currently I'm working on making her a quilt!

I love the colors of these two rooms..they just look fun and bright!

I'll update later when I have made more progress on her room! Probably after the holidays are over, I'll really start working on it!

And big step two...potty training! She's not doing great, but she's learning.... 

A few weeks ago Gianna kept undressing/undiapering herself. I couldn't figure out what was up until I realized she'd undress/undiaper herself after she peed. My first thought was that maybe she was ready to potty train, but she seemed way too young for that. But I thought we'd give it a go. Gianna has peed and pooped in her potty a few times, but we haven't made huge progress. When we are home G runs around in her undies. When she pees I sit her down on the potty. About half the time she runs to the potty right before or while she's peeing, so I guess it's progress. Plus she gets 'num nums' (a few m&m's) if she pees on the potty. 

It's a slow process but we're working on it. She's progressing a tiny bit each day so we'll just run with it! When we do go out an about or during naps/bed she's definitely in a diaper! Needless to say, she has pooped in her pants before and peed on the floor quite a few times! Thankfully we have hardwood floors!
