Gianna just had her 9 month check up! She's healthy as can be and even passed the 10-month development test, with flying colors, that I had to fill out. It asked some odd questions...for example: if you give your baby a glass jar with cheerios in it, will s/he try to grab the cheerios? Honestly-I had never done that before! When we got home I gave her a bottle with cheerios in it and she did indeed try to grab them.
Gianna weighs 18lbs10oz and is 28 1/4 inches long. She dropped from the 63rd percentile to the 40th percentile so our pedi recommended that we try to feed her some high protein, high (good) fat foods. She is quite the mover though so we kind of expected her to not gain much weight (she only gained 1.75lbs in 3 months!).
Our pedi also recommended that we wean Gianna from her night feedings. She used to STTN (12hrs) so I know she doesn't need the bottles in the middle of the night, but I am wrapped around her finger. Dr.P (our pedi) said that she will eat more table food if we feed her less at night and just keep her 4 bottles during the day. I know we need to...but I'm dreading it. I can't stand hearing little G cry.....
Oh a happier note! Here's the new things Gianna can now do!
*She claps and says "YAH!" which really sounds like "A".
*She will sometimes wave. She's still getting used to moving her fingers back and forth. She just started going this. Jeff waved the other day and she looked at her hand and moved her fingers like his. Now she will do it every once in awhile.
*She will take 2-3 steps, but only if she wants to do it.
*She can climb the first step on the stairs, but then gets scared (thankfully) and stops.
*She pulls up and stands on anything and climbs everywhere. She has no fear!
*I swear she said kitty, twice now. But I don't want to say she can unless someone else hears her, I don't want to be a liar! (The other day Kingston was laying on G, and G was sitting on my lap. I was petting him with her and I said 'kitty kitty'. Then she kept saying 'tiiiy-tiiiy'. I'm pretty sure she was copying me, but I'll keep ya updated if it's the real deal or not ;-)
And here's a fun video of my adorable daughter!
