We've been working on our entry way this weekend. I picked out a nice light brownish/gray paint...well let's just say it's nothing like I expected!! It's sooo dark! But I still like the color, we decided Jeff is going to have to install an actual light in the entry way right now. Currently, we only have our kitchen light and a light at the bottom of the staircase but it doesn't give us enough light. Here's the before and during pic......
Tomorrow we need to rip up all the staples that were tacking the carpet down. Then prep the floor for our 'flooring'. Yes, it's cheap peal-n-stick hardwood flooring but that was basically our only choice because a.) there's asbestos flooring underneath so we couldn't rip it up. b.) this meant we had to do something very thin so that the door could still easily open c.) we didn't want carpet because it would just get terribly dirty. The two stairs leading to the kitchen will have a white riser and hardwood stairs that match the flooring. I also have a white entry mirror/coat hook that we're going to install after we're done. Then I'm hoping to get some cute wall words or something to make it more 'homey'. Lastly, Jeff will hopefully soon install a light on the ceiling that leads downstairs. Well, hopefully I have actual after pics tomorrow night...or atleast next weekend!
