Joys of being a home owner...

Oh boy what a week!! To start off with last week we had a little issue with our toilet and sewer.... The basement toilet would over flow when no one was even using it and it wasn't just water...it was yucky poo too!! GROSS!! Thankfully our home warranty covered someone to come and do some stuff to the pipes & toilet so we got that fixed.

Then Monday night I had a breastfeeding class. It was actually pretty interesting and informative. Jeff skipped out and I went with my friend Molly who is due just a few days before me!

Well....got home Monday night and went downstairs to do some laundry and we had water ALL over the laundry room! I yelled at Jeff to come down and we realized our drain was overflowing....very quickly! So we started just taking cup fulls of water from the drain and pouring them into an emptry trash can which Jeff would dump outside but the water was coming faster than we could get it out! So off Jeff went to Walmart for a Wet Vac while huge old me did more dumping and scooping up water. When he finally got home our poor carpet was getting soaked. The Wet Vac couldn't keep up either so Jeff sent me off to my parents to get their mini sump pump. Needless to say, I was a mess. I couldn't stop crying thinking our basement was ruined and Jeff was doing his best to soothe me, and take care of the ever flowing water! Well...anyways...around 11:30pm I got back from my parents house and we pumped water out of our basement. THe mini sump pump was pumping about 50gallons and took about 45 minutes until our basement was 'dry'. When I say dry, I mean it was all soaked but the water was gone! We continued to run the pump while we tried to dry out the carpet, flooring, everything.

Monday was a loooong night getting up every few hours to run the pump and Tuesday was a loooong day trying to figure out what was going on. Tuesday night Jeff came home and had some fun digging marbles, pennies, tiles, etc out of this drain. Turns out all this crap had plugged the main drain hole. Who knows where all this junk came from!! I figured it was other people's crap that got washed into our sewer pipes and stuck along the way. Anyway-for now our basement is dry. Still a mess and we'll need to replace flooring but thankfully it didn't cost us too much money or stress.

So that's been my excitement!! I've been staying busy making stuff from my store and trying to design new stuff to get up on my blog! Tomorrow is our growth ultrasound and I can't wait to see little G!! An average 30+ week baby weighs between 2.5 to 4 lbs so hopefully she's in that range. I have a feeling she maybe even bigger as I feel extra large these days!

oh no I'm so sorry! I think I jinxed you talking about Jake/Jenn's basement! but now maybe you guys need to do that building-brick-around-the-drain project!
