Yup, Gianna's is going to be a BIG sister!!
Can you believe it? Because I still can't!
This pregnancy has been completely different from my first, I've been sick a lot and started taking Unisom to help with that. Surprisingly it helped a ton but now the Unisom is giving me headaches! So we are back to square one... I thought for sure once I got out of the first trimester I would be feeling great, but not yet!
I've had a lot of people ask me if we did IVF. Honestly, unless they are close family or friends I despise this questions. Why would you ask someone something so personal, especially when you barely know them? I don't know....we were very open about Gianna being an IVF baby but this time I just feel more private about it. Truth is, we didn't do IVF with this baby. We did do fertility treatments, thankfully, we were able to get a 'cocktail' of drugs that worked for us!
We actually found we were pregnant while we were in Vegas....it's funny because on our way to Vegas I told Jeff that I was sure I was pregnant and I was sure that it's a boy. I was right about one thing, so we'll see if I'm was right about the sex. I'm not really feeling boy or girl now...I'm been sick, which means girl. Heartbeat is high, which means girl...but I kind of feel like it's a boy. I don't know, time will tell!! We did have an ultrasound last week and the tech said, well it looks like there's a penis! BUT it could also be a swollen labia....so I guess we'll have to wait a few more weeks to find out! (Hopefully the first week of July!).
As far as the health of the baby, our First Trimester Screening results showed low odds of Down Syndrome or Trisomy. The ultrasound looked great and it was so fun to see baby...for the millionth time ;-) Yes, we've had a lot of ultrasound so far...more than I can count. It all started around 5/6weeks, we had our first scan and they saw a large subchorionic hemmorhage in my uterus, the same size as the babies sac. They were very concerned and gave us a 50/50 chance of a healthy pregnancy. To be honest, I was terrified. From 6-10+ weeks I had spotting and major bleeding, each time ending in an ultrasound which showed a still growing, healthy baby. The hemmorhage has slowly decreased and is now gone, THANK GOD! Baby is looking fabulous now and all is going well. Hopefully the next two trimesters will be less eventful. I do want to share the Prayer Works page. I posted on there a few times asking for prayers for our family and this pregnancy. It's an amazing site and completely confidential. I had so many emails saying people were praying for us, it really felt like God was there with us each step of the way. I am such a strong believer in the power of prayer, I strongly encourage any of you to post on there and let those prayer warriors pray for you!!
Lastly....everyone wants to know how the baby belly is coming along. And oh boy, it's definitely growing!! I've lost 7lbs so far with this pregnancy but my belly has grown tremendously. Thankfully, no one has been rude and commented on how huge I am, yet anyway ;-)! Don't get me wrong, I love the belly...I just wasn't ready for it to get so big so fast! :-)
Eventually I'll get brave and post some belly pics for you all!!
So here's to a healthy and happy (a little more than!) 5 months to go!
(Due November 2012!)
